Need Urgent Review: FT Consulting, PWM
I am a senior at a target going into full time recruiting - I have a pretty extensive background in consulting but am looking to get into IMD/Wealth Management. I need to submit this to a firm on Wednesday so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Any tips on how to make this more finance-oriented would also be great.
From a quick glance: 1) Wayyyy too much info on your consulting internship. Nobody is going to read all that. Trim it down a lot. 2) Publications should not be its own section 3) If you need to fill up some space after trimming down the internship, make your header different (i.e. address on separate line from phone, email) and add some spacing between your experiences
sounds like mckinsey which is incredible - especially for wealth management i think as long as you have a decent interview you can get into whatever you want.
-If the consulting firm is MBB, I disagree that there is too much. Also, I feel it is fine for publications to be its own section, as long as they are reputable journals
-I'd cut out (former high school player)
It looks pretty good though, you should easily get interviews for PWM, which is the main point of a resume
quick observation:
WAY TOO MUCH IN CONSULTING>>>>CHOP CHOP CHOP! Dean's List: How many times? keep base ball (from high school) only if you consider it a major achievement.
I think the "& Company" gives it away. Can't see you having any problems with landing interviews with McKinsey on your resume.
No further comments, in which case this was a pointless post.
Thanks for the advice so far...it has been very helpful. I don't want to specify which consulting firm I worked for, but it is a top five firm. I'm going to try and trim down the consulting section a little but I am hesitant to cut too much since it is the essence of my resume. Any suggestions on what I should cut specifically?
In addition to PWM, how does this look for consulting? Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.
