Financial Advisor Trying To Get Into PE
I'm a financial advisor looking to transition into PE. My background is mainly in financial planning, investment and wealth management for ultra high net worth families. I know my background is unorthodox for someone trying to get into PE. I have a CFP and looking to get my MBA, and or potentially my CFA. Does anyone know what would be a good way to pivot into the industry? Where would I have to start? Do I need to get my CFA? Any help or guidance would be great here.

Going to be tough. Probably M7 mba > IB assoc > try to break into mm pe or lmm pe is most realistic path.
Aim for pre mba IB or Top 5 MBA > BB/EB summer internship > Post MBA IBAssociate and maybe then, if you get extremely lucky get an offer from a LMM PEfund (and btw this wont be through a credible recruiter but rather your own networking/relationship efforts)..
Dont think CFA will be helpful other than maybe just showing your 300+ hrs of time commitment to possibly one of your potential interviewers who already have the charter
