JP FO quant vs DB S&T

Hi guys,

My girlfriend (who has been a FO quant at a BB for 6 months) has these 2 options:

  • Desk Quant at JP (FT) in rates options desk - base ~ 85k$ , bonus not known (but my guess would be something around 30/40%?)
  • S&T 1yr graduate program at DB (which would be one rotation in rates structuring  and possibly a second one in structured credit trading) - base ~ 60/70k $, bonus 0 ? (I think you don't get a bonus in the graduate program, right?)

Her goal is to eventually end up in structuring but she doesn't mind doing 1/2 years of quant at JP and then try to make the move to structuring there.

What do you guys think? How good are rates structuring and structured credit trading at DB? How hard is it to move from desk quant to structuing at JP? Will there really be an hiring freeze that could cause S&T desk to not give permanent seats to people in rotational programs?

Thanks in advance for any input
