Taking the GMAT more than once...
So I was talking with some Kaplan folks and they told me it's not recommended to take the GMAT multiple times like the SAT's. Has this been true from your experiences and what you've heard?

Yes and no. Schools will care if you take the test like 6+ times because it just gets ridiculous. They do like it better if you can score really high the first time. However, I still think it's more important to score high than is the number of times you've taken the test. If you need to take it two or even three times to do well (as long as you are improving) you should be okay.
Elaborating on what skeballet said, the schools' official position is that they only look at your highest score. However, they do get a complete score report which tells them about all of the times you've taken it. The best score, however is clearly much more important than how many times you've taken it.
schools only get last 3 scores - not a big deal at all
