Senior Year: Taking a school year internship for on-cycle help

Rising senior at a non-target who recently completed an IB internship at an EB. Currently in the process of applying for a fall internship at a enterprise software investment firm (~$5bn aum) in America. This past summer, I didn't get any live deal experience, and considering on-cycle will start next summer before hitting the desk for FT, would it be wise to take this opportunity? I'm hoping to get interviews at the top software investment firms (Thoma Bravo, Vista, HG, etc...) and will be in a TMT group - just wondering how much a of a boost this relevant experience will have in actually getting interviews from headhunters.

The fact that I won't have anything related to live deals or investments to intelligibly talk about during my on-cycle interviews is worrying and my rationale for taking this internship would be that it would stand out as a unique opportunity and be a talking point during the interviews, I can sort of brush off my lack of deal experience with my investment related (and potential live investment processes) experiences gained during the fall internship. Seems like a really interesting opportunity, but just want to get your guys' thoughts on its potential helpfulness during on-cycle interviews.
