When/if to remove A level Grades?
Resume summary as follows:
Masters in Finance (think LBS, LSE, Oxford) with Merit
Bachelors in Econ (think Bristol, Manc, Leeds, Exeter) with Upper 2:1
Have just under a year of full-time experience at a rep firm in buyside before doing masters (just graduated).
I'm trying to break into HF/buyside in equities role, trying to be as critical as possible about my CV.
My A-levels are Maths (A*), Further Maths (A), Econ (B), Spanish (B) - not sure whether a recruiter will look down at these results or not, perhaps overthinking it.
Would really appreciate any feedback, but recognise job market in london is bad atm.
It's probably not going to matter that much either way. Those grades are fine. I had "worse" grades than that and probably a worse profile and I had like 0 issues with recruiters. Frankly your ability to break in will come down to more luck than you might be comfortable with. I've written before but there simply are not many buyside equities ops for people coming into entry level roles and most are locked behind internship conversions. So due to the sheer lack of seats available, you basically only get a handful of shots and we all know how random UK recruiting can be sometimes.
yep agreed, cheers.
