When is it appropriate to remove past work experience from your resume?
Hey guys,
Recent graduate and I am just sprucing up the resume. When is it appropriate to remove past internships you have done in college. I have done about four finance related internships in college so you can imagine that is takes a considerable amount of space. When I start adding bullet points to my current FT job when is it appropriate to start removing older internship experiences? Like 1 year out of college? 2 years? or right before MBA apps? Should I just remove it entirely or just leave it on with no bullet points.
Thanks in advance.
It's your resume, you can exclude or include any experience or data that you like, as long as you don't lie.
So, once you think that those internships aren't helping your resume anymore then you can remove them. I would say that you should start removing the oldest ones first as gaps in your resume have to be explained to any potential employer.
Do something like: Had internships within: GS, MS ...... etc. With no details. Everybody does understand what you did there. But wheb you are a MD, its no need to write about interns at all, as nobody cares about your student experience.
