Intriguing resume

Some of my fds at the trading desk fwd me a resume+essay
and it was pretty intriguing to me. What are your thoughts?

LL COOL KIM

Born in S.Korea
Did A-levels in England
Went to Big Ten school and played ice hockey
Dropped out of college when their family went bankrupt, and returned to his country.
Joined the army and did a tour Iraq
At one point of his life he thought of becoming a professional gamer
Claims he has extremely fast reflexes and DVA (dynamic visual acuity)
He day-traded a year in the korean derivatives market (Futures and ELWs) making a whopping 244% annual return (he enclosed a bunch of daily/monthly P&L statements, journals, broker statements, etc - apparently he traded stat arb)
Quit day-trading when his family member got ill and needed money for surgeries.
Started working in Equity Research for a year and returned to school.
Quant degree from Hong Kong University of Science Technology and
MSc Financial Mathematics from London School of Economics
CQF certified

Would you give this guy an interview?
(It's not exactly recruiting season but in Tokyo, we recruit whenever.)

DVA and was a gamer...those two things are usually exclusive as gaming ruins eye sight

My drinkin' problem left today, she packed up all her bags and walked away.

andyinsandiego:
I don't understand why he wouldn't go back into trading with those returns. Why jump over to equity research?
He is applying for one of the algo trading teams. Sorry I missed that out. He actually said in his essay (I know. Asia.) that he hated research which I thought was bold too.

Varsity ice hockey or club?

Also this guy sounds really old to be starting in an entry-level job. Gamer is irrelevant/out of place.
