Well they aren’t necessarily a target so it’s whoever they can get. I noticed that too as well, I suppose they are trying to grow quick by having more bodies

To my understanding, they have been growing quick and have done a good job discovering niche REIT industries. I don’t know anyone with experience who pursued it, so it is more so for non-targets or those who don’t have previous experience. This may simply be due to it being a small shop, that limits exits

Bro they have like $15B AUM what are you talking about? They are one of the largest REPE shops in Canada... While I have my own opinions on them they are certainly very reputable and one of the more well regarded shops here. Sure, in the US they are small.

OP - Slate is known to be a sweatshop and have their own internal training program in place, so they tend to churn and burn analysts fresh out of undergrad. Those who click stay, those who don't roll off to other shops. They don't usually pursue experienced hires below a middle management level.
