How can I move abroad?

Hi all,

Would love to hear any thoughts, advice, or feedback.

I am a CRE underwriter at a large bank with roughly 1.5 YOE experience in CRE with a masters degree (idk if this matters) based in America. I think I have a convincing / valid story on why I want to live abroad but understand I am still early on in my career and may not have the experience firms are looking for.

I’ve seen some posts here lately about working in the Middle East and am curious how people get these jobs / how I can get my foot in the door.

I would be open to living in the Middle East, Asia (Jakarta, Singapore, Japan, Taipei, China, ETC) or Australia.

Thank you in advance!

Middle East jobs are often handled through employment agencies, although within some sectors (consultancy) you might also be able to apply directly. The agency would handle all the visa requirements.

Jobs in Asia can be applied to directly, but please be aware of the individual language and visa requirements. Being abroad, without the local languages, or visa... it might be difficult to get the other side to respond. But it would work if you speak to them, explain the why and how.

If you have a large enough network you might be able to utilize that here.

Lastly, be flexible. Going abroad is a huge adventure, things are different from a cultural and work perspective. That is the beauty of it.
