Does anyone have any information about Blackstone London (Acquisitions)?
Hi All,
Wondered if anyone has information about the team in London in terms of hours/deal flow/culture/pay? Specifically interested in:
- How often you are working weekends and what time you typically finish M-F?
- How busy is the team in terms of deals? I assume less busy than US team but I imagine this is across all of Blackstone's teams, not just REPE
- What is the team like? Are they nice? Is it a sweatshop?
- How does pay scale from Analyst all the way to principal level?
Thanks in advance!
Hey WilliamMckenzie, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
More suggestions...
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.

Information below is derived from interviewing, speaking with past and current Blackstone Employees.
How often you are working weekends and what time you typically finish M-F?
For Real Estate acquisitions the hours are intense. When not on a deal the hours were from 9:00-22/0:00 Mon-Fri with checking on emails during the weekend etc. When on a deal this can stretch to 9-1:00/2:00+ with work on Saturdays. So prepare to be working 6 days a week regularly. From analysts I have spoke to, the hours are still relentless as you move up from Analyst, Associate, VP etc.
How busy is the team in terms of deals? I assume less busy than US team but I imagine this is across all of Blackstone's teams, not just REPE
Blackstone is by far and large one of the most active real estate investors in the world. Even outside the US they are very active, especially across the UK and Europe. They are very innovative, with their venture into Life sciences, Built to Rent etc. So even when you are not on a deal, you are looking for new innovative real estate investments.
What is the team like? Are they nice? Is it a sweatshop?
From the interviews I have had and people I have spoke to, the teams want you to learn as much as possible especially during the analyst level. You have to be obsessive in terms of your career and learning. That is what makes Blackstone so strong, the obsession and inner drive. So teams will have that mentality.
How does pay scale from Analyst all the way to principal level?
Analyst: £70-80k GBP + 50-100% bonus
Associate: £100-120K GBP + 50-110% bonus
VP/Principal: No idea to be honest
Salary will get reviewed on a yearly basis, so analysts are not earning a fixed amount from years 1-3 and the same is with associates etc.
Interesting, thanks!
From what I've heard (have a few mates working), bonuses are closer to 100% than 30%
Can anyone comment on whether the hours translate to REPE Acquisitions in NYC?
Hi this post is old but I'd love your insights if you have any on other large cap RE funds at the Analyst level in London. Do you have any insights on any of these firms regarding pay in 2022? Looking to make a lateral from MM PERE to large cap if the pay is up there.
Brookfield, Starwood, Lone Star/ Hudson Advisors, Partners Group, JPM Asset Management, GSAM, and MSREI. I know they all take Analysts, just not sure what life and pay is like.
