Analyst in Relationship - How do you do it?
Hi guys so I've been in a relationship for 3 years since college and we want to stay together long-term but sometimes it gets hard with work obviously and was wondering if anybody has tips for being in a relationship while being an Analyst with all of the hours?
Doesn’t really work unless your partner is very patient, has a busy schedule, has deep trust in you, isn’t overly needy, and really likes you to the extent they can overlook the spontaneity.
Doesn’t necessarily need to be all of the above, but a few points have to be the case in order to make it work. It’s more normal for it to not work, I know if I worked 8 hours a day, had a healthy sleep schedule, was always in a good mood etc an ibanker wouldn’t be my partner of choice.
GF is still in college, and we are long distance. Get to see her 1-2 times a month. Make enough where flights don’t put a hole in my pocket. Also get to see each other over winter/summer break. Met here senior year, so we’ve spent most of our relationship long distance and that kind of set the standard. Just makes the fewer moments more special and we make sure to have a memorable time. Also have a set time where we FT during the day, so we can always rely on that.
