Do these even get read? Haha

Hello Everyone,

ABOUT MYSELF

I'm a recent graduate from an up-and-coming state school in New Jersey. In the last year alone my university received the 2nd research institution designation by the state and has added 2 medical schools under its purview. They're breaking ground on a new business building in the fall and have plans to double enrollment by 2023.

Anyhow I've graduated with a 3.76/4.0 GPA in Management and I'm incredibly interested in finance and being involved in the financial industry. I've complemented my studies with a year abroad in Shanghai, China (complete with its own internship) that I used to gain an international perspective on business. In the end, I understand my school is non-target, etc etc.

Currently I'm serving as a research assistant for a venture capital fund my school is starting and it's fantastic. Not only am I learning plenty about venture capitalism, but I'm being given the opportunity to drive projects and lead assignments.

WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR FROM WSO?

Basically some tips and tricks on how to break into the financial industry proper, i.e. recruiting windows, tips, tricks etc. I'm also looking for constructive criticism and real talk on the industry and what is necessary to succeed. I've lurked around and can see people are honest here (if not brutally so) - I like that.

I look forward to learning and seeing what there is to be said.

No, no cover letter unfortunately haha!
