Where should you intern for a IB internship?
Hey I was wondering what kind of internships you should do starting from the 1. Semester to the last Semester to break into IB after uni.
I think its pretty unlikely to get a IB internship in the 1. Semester since people usually don’t have any previous work experience.
So which internship path is the best to build up a CV to land a IB internship in the 3.-7. Semester?
I heard people some people get a Asset Management Internship and then go to tier 2/3 Banks and climb the ladder from there.
I would recommend to do an internship at a Big 4, preferably transaction/deal advisory first. Afterwards you can try to land an internship in a small PE fund or small corporate finance advisory firm. Afterwards you should have everything to aim for an internship at an upper MM. Otherwise, you could try to do an internship at a consulting firm.
