What to do next

Hi, recently graduated from KCL- BSc Econ & Management. Got a 2:1 (around 3.3 GPA). Did an internship in India @ EY in Strategy & Transactions. did part-time as a research analyst in a startup. Looking for jobs now. thinking of doing an MSF (sep 2024 intake). studying for the GRE as well, planning to give it aug end-sep mid. Does MSF make sense if i want to get into banking or even MBB? also planning to give the cfa level 1 in feb 2024. Planning to apply for MSF in the UK & US.

Assuming MSF = MSc Finance, then yes it of course helps, but it won't help much unless at a truly Tier 1 target school (and there's the financial cost of it to consider). Likewise for the CFA1 - it's good that you have a little experience, but for this industry, it's experience / internships that count a lot more than additional degrees.

As a suggestion, apply to EY (or other Big 4) in the UK (or US) if you can, and in Transactions or Audit (to get the accounting qualification), and try to lateral into the industry that way. With your background and in this (very difficult) market, I think it'll be tough to break in directly.
