Seeking Advice: Should I Share My Immigration Story in Job Interviews?

Hey everyone,

Have an interview coming up and I'm debating whether or not to share my immigration story from when I moved to Australia from China with my parents at 7. At that time, I couldn't speak English and had to start from scratch.

On one hand, sharing this story could highlight personal growth, adaptability, ability to overcome challenges, determination to succeed despite facing language barriers and adapting to a new culture.

However, I'm also concerned that sharing this story might give the impression that I don't culturally fit or that my language and oral communication ability might not be as strong as native speakers.

Would appreciate any advice on whether I should include my immigration story in my interview.

Thanks for your time in advance!
