Summer Internship 2007: Help needed
I have got a summer internship frm a mid-sized manufacturing co. It has just turned around. I had applied for an internship in finance, they have asked me to submit some proposals for the internship project which will help the company...I am looking to do Investment Banking in my 2nd yr. So needed help as to what kind of project i should design which will help me as well as them...i have thot of "hybrid financial instruments to manage financing costs" & "Strategies to improve efficiency & profitability of____co ltd" but this is not exactly IB, more into strategy & consulting domain...wanted more ideas & suggestions...
(Info abt the co.
The company manufactures a/c components & Refrigeration products primarily for industrial/commercial use. It was loss making primarily due to poor management. Production used to be low & due to poor management of inventory the production used to get stalled on many occaisons. Also the cost of financing was high(lates 90's).
The company was taken over by the current owner in 1999. After that the production was increased with better management of inventory. The loans were also re-structured. The company was profitable within a year of the new management taking over.
The company may also need funds to expand...so capital structuring & raising may also be an option...
If u need more info plz let me know.)
what are you trying to ask?
it doesn't sound like a great internship because there are no set parameters.
internships are brand dependent to a certain extent, it seems like this internship will do nothing for your future IB hopes.
