IB UK (from India)

Hi I'm from India. I'm planning to do MSc fin from T1 Universities in UK.
My profile is fairly good for them to accept me.
I have a (BSc fin)9cgpa, 740 gmat, cfa lvl 2, 2 internship, 1 in ER, 1 as a FA, some EC and leadership xp

And my post masters goal is to work in IB UK.
I'm concerned about the job scenario post bc I haven't seen many Indians working in IB who had their Master's from LSE or lbs or even oxford.
But Indians who are infact working in IB have completed their bachelor's at such universities, Are master's courses are just a monetary gain for such universities? And what should I do in order to work in IB UK bc I can't just come back home without paying that big hefty loan amount which I will take when pursuing Master's.
Please give me your honest advice as I clearly can't think for myself atm.
Thanks!

I'm also from India but doing my masters in one of the European countries (france / Germany) and I go to a target school for London IB recruitment and have had a bit of a success getting internships in 2-3 good places. Given my limited experience and view into the matter, I can give you my take, but I might be wrong to an extent.

So, the problem with masters in the uk is that it's close to 10-11 months, and you do not have any gaps to do an internship. Your prior experiences in india won't speak much unless it's from one of the TOP BBs (likes of axis cap or sbi capital doesn't count). Most of your competition in masters have one or two internships in this area in an European context and will always get shortlisted over you. So, I am not gonna lie but it's going to be very tough to break into IB, as an Indian without experience, in UK.

However, I'd still say, if you get admitted into one of the schools, come here and try your luck getting into IB. It sure is competitive, but not impossible. Also if not IB, you'll get a job in a different industry, which shouldn't be the end of the world imo.

What about doing 2-3 internship in IB after doing the masters? Would that make me eligible to work in those roles ?

And about the other industries you said, do they provide T2 visa sponsorship?

I think the main reason Indians who come UK for masters struggle is because of lack of knowledge around the application process, timeline, and structure. My advice would be to start networking with recent alumni from now itself. Also, start practicing for online tests - they're not challenging but require some practice. Keep in mind that you can't wait to come to UK get settled etc and then apply as imo its already too late by then. Most apps are live by 1st week sept and everyone I know applied within 7-10 days of opening. Use the WSO CV template to format your CV and can even upload it anonymously to get feedback from community members. I found more applicable advice here on the forum than any career sessions

Your best bet is to do masters at one of the top three french universities (HEC, ESCP, ESSEC) Grande ecole program because UK masters won't help you much unless you have prior work experience at BB in India or at a big-name shop.
