How hard is it to make the relocation from HK to NYC/LDN

Scrolled through a few posts on relocation. I wonder how hard is it, exactly, to make the move from HK to other major hubs, taking visa sponsorship into consideration.

Hopefully, there are folks interested in this or even made it in the past.

From HK but work in NYC. For NYC: Heard it's exremely difficult even without a need for visa sponsorship (I suspect cultural and work differences play a role in how firms view HK applicants). Big reason why I haven't moved back -- you're almost committing to living there forever if you don't return to do a MBA.

Interested to hear others' views.

Thanks for the reply. I as well prefer the lifestyle in the states.

After spending a whole summer in HK, I figure it's probably not the best place to start from ground zero as I have to pay for my own rent and save up to buy an apartment unit (that's what everyone's been talking about in HK, isn't it). Not to mention the political uncertainty overshadowing the city-state.

I wonder what you think about the visa issue here in the states, tho. If internationals like us were to settle down here, it's quite a complicated process and could easily take numerous years. I've been constantly asking myself if it's worth it these days.

Watched the FILTH videos on YouTube before my summer stint this year.

Definitely eye opening
