Great HF team
Check these two fellas out; Angus and Richard Grinham, now in their early 30s, founders of Grinham Managed Funds (Australia's 4th largest HF with $2bn FUM), the guys are in the Young & Rich list with fortune north of $250mill.
Gotta love the job description on their site: "The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. or recent Honours/Masters degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance or a related field. All levels of experience will be considered. Competency in software development is essential and a thorough knowledge of one or more of Fortran, C, C++, Matlab/Octave or related languages will be required. Knowledge of or past research experience in any of the fields of complex systems, statistical and numerical analysis, machine learning, pattern recognition, time series modelling or related would be highly regarded."
I wonder where these guys interned....
heheheh if they're phds, probably nowhere...
who needs to intern? what they're looking for are AI programmers and people who can automate trades based on a few market-based predictors or events. The guys running the firm, assuming they know the finance, just need you to write (and re-write, and re-write) the code to do what they want to 60,000 or so times while everyone's grabbing shuteye.
