DS to Investment Analyst (Transition)
Hi all. I am currently a data analyst within a large single manager hedge fund in America with a large AUM base (think Viking, Coatue, etc.), with a lesser known brand name. I work quite closely with the investment team, mainly tracking trends in company data and present them in a readable form for investment analysts to analyse etc.
I was hoping to get some advice from people within the industry (on this forum) as to the possibility of me switching to an investment role - within my current firm or other firms. How should I go about this transition? How do I become an attractive candidate? Is this even possible? What do I need to do?
I am still quite young (pre-30s).
