Did I screw up my career
I went to a non target school as a full pay student and then transferred cause i didnt think it was worth 100 k for a BA in economics. i was always interested in going into banking(credit) so i thought a ba wouldn’t help me but now i’m realizing i should have stayed because my gpa was really good and now i’m at a new way cheaper schook but my gpa is struggling . like 3.4 and i feel like it would have been doing so much better at my old school. was being close to 100k a year justifiable to pay. my parents said i could have stayed but they weren’t good at explaining the financial situation. i’m saving atleast 100k and i am now majoring in accounting and finance. do you guys think i should have stayed for the costs? do accounting majors get looked at for credit
Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for students to transfer schools for financial reasons. The cost of education is a significant factor and saving around $100k is a substantial amount.
As for your GPA, a 3.4 is not a bad GPA by any means. It's important to remember that while GPA is a factor in job applications, it's not the only factor. Your work experience, internships, and networking efforts can often carry more weight.
In terms of your major, accounting and finance are both relevant fields for a career in banking. Accounting, in particular, provides a strong foundation for understanding the financial workings of a company, which is crucial in banking.
So, don't worry too much about the path you've taken. Focus on doing well in your current school, gaining relevant experience, and networking effectively. Remember, there's no one 'right' path into banking. It's all about leveraging what you have and making the most of it.

You’re overthinking.
Your school does not define you or your career. I went to a no name school and hustled to get internships and secured quality full time jobs and now am in a role at a tier 1 city with market comp. If you are giving up now, then you’re going to give up in the future in your career where things get much harder.
Ok thank you I am over thinking it. If anything it’s making me want to work harder for a higher gpa, but just the thought that I was doing better at my old school makes me sad.
