Breaking into Private Credit from Credit Risk?

Hey everyone! A longtime lurker here.

I have a background in engineering and worked for a top US credit card issuer in their risk management division. I'm currently pursuing an MBA in Europe. I'm interested in finance, and I have been looking IB/PE and Asset Management roles to recruit into after my program ends.

I recently discovered the Private Credit industry and have been reading up on it. Do you think jumping from the credit card risk space to the private credit industry is a realistic bet? In my previous job I was analyzing large transaction datasets for building strategies for authorizing transactions on my company's card portfolios. A lot of the Private Credit terms and jargons that I read about seem similar to my work in the past, and in the end I see both jobs as extending loans to businesses (albeit private credit focuses a lot more on financial analysis than my previous job).

Let me know what you think about it? Is there anything that I can do to strengthen my profile?

I have completed CFA Level 1 and would prepare for Level 2 towards the end of my MBA. I'm currently doing a wall street prep LBO course.
