Should I try my luck in applying?
I'm starting an MSc in Finance next week. It's a target in London and wider Europe. I already have a return offer from an EB, and even career centre officer has told me I have a very high chance to get into a BB
What's really frustrating is that when I tried to steer the conversation into AM the tune completely changed. AM recruitment is contingent and not systematic, that I understand. But it is my ultimate career objective, the stability itself is a good motivation. Other than that, I like investing and delving deeper into earnings transcripts and pitching...etc. I'm still undecided but I can register for CFA level 1 in the November or February window, I just graduated an my mind is still fresh. Im familiar with industry essential books, so if it gets to interviews I think I have faith in myself. I'm eyeing the newly designated associate programs at large AMs, starting as an intern and then ft.
What's your take? Should I just go for it or it's going to be a waste of time? (time that would be otherwise invested in networking and applying for BBs and Blackstone's OC)
Anyone? 😬
