Career change from financial controller to AM

I'm financial controller at an automotive supplier company based in France. Planning to change my career into AM. Appearing CFA level 2 in this year. How hard is it for me to break into AM as an analyst or Associate after an year assuming I clear CFA level 3 and 2yrs+ financial controller work ex.

Hey maddy_g, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your thread! Bummer...could just be time of day or unlucky (or the question/topci is too vague or too specific). Maybe one of these topics will help:

I can only speak from a US perspective, but it's very tough to break in from the outside... you have to show passion... have a PA (personal account) invested that you can talk about and you'll need a handful of stock pitches and ideally a few written pitches to send. It doesn't matter how much $ is in the PA, but you need to have one to show your interest. The number of stocks isn't super important either... I would keep it to 5-10 stocks since you should be ready to talk about any one of them while interviewing. Good luck.

Thanks for your advice, I'm building my stocks pitches. Apart from that I would like to know the weightage of CFA on my profile to get into AM considering I clear all the levels.
